Bwltw:Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Ursula Sinclair:I’m an avid reader and a writer of contemporary, fantasy, and sci/fi sensual romances. I also write romantic suspense and new adult romance under the pen name Ursula Sinclair. I’m currently working on several projects, but then again I usually have 2 or 3 new things going at a time as well as editing finished work. But believe it or not writing keeps me sane. lol

 Bwltr:What inspired you to write your first book?

Ursula Sinclair:The first book I wrote I still haven’t published it yet. Maybe one day I’ll go back to it. It was inspired by the U-2 song With or Without You and listening to it while riding in an elevator. I wrote Without You out of that. It’s a romantic intrigue.

My first published work, Promises was inspired by a cousin who married her childhood sweetheart.

Bwltr:Do you have a favorite character in your stories? Who? and Why?

Ursula Sinclair:I love all of my characters they all have a little bit of me in them. But right now my favorite is Maze from my Ballerina Series. And if you’ve read it you understand why. *grins* If you haven’t then you’ll have to.   

Bwltr:How did you choose the genre you write in?

Ursula Sinclair:I chose the genres I enjoy reading most, which happens to be several. Lol The only one I haven’t written in yet, is historical. But I pretty much write what I read.

Bwltr:Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

Ursula Sinclair:I’d say from the womb. Lol I think as soon as I could hold a writing instrument in my hand I began to write.

Bwltr:What scene in your writing has made you laugh the hardest or cry the most?

Ursula Sinclair:That’s a really great question. I had to think on it a little. Cry the most has got to be Angel Rising Redemption a paranormal romance which is coming 2015, my hero has to walk away from the love of his life. She’s a fallen and he kills them. Or Come To Me

which is available, the heroine is in a car accident when she wakes up and doesn’t know her fiancé. Laugh Maze, Ballerina Book 2 the thought of Dante in a boxing gym with dancing tights on.

Bwltr:Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way
either growing up or as an adult?

Ursula Sinclair:No one in particular. But I do have several authors who’ve influenced my writing over the years. The late Robert Jordan The Wheel of Time Series for the politics and complexity of his worlds, Julie Garwood for her beautiful heroes who aren’t afraid to back up their words, Jane Austin for writing Pride & Prejudice to show me what a romance should be, Stobie Piel for merging two of my favorite genres high fantasy and romance, Octavia Butler for expanding my mind.

Bwltr:What are your current projects?

Ursula Sinclair:I have a book coming out every month for the rest of the month and into the new year so I’m pretty busy. And I’m attending 3 conventions this year. So lots of travel. But my funniest project was working with 4 other black authors to put together a new adult multicultural/interracial boxed set Take Me coming July 29.

Lidia Morales character was not likable at all aggressive and indecisive in over 70 percent of the book not good I would have like to seen the couple grow as one. Brayden Sanchez headstrong and determine. I would have like to read about Lidia, Brayden and his brother’s interact with each other in the book also his parents you heard about his mom being sick but that was it no one rush to be by her side are went to check on her…     That’s it guys until next times

BlackWomenLoveToRead :What inspired you to write your first book?

Sylvia Hubbard:I’d always been writing books, but I’d never really finished anything. One day I can honestly say, I got sick and tired of being sick and tired. On top of that, I was looking at my young children and I knew I would be a hypocrite if I told them to follow their dreams when I was not following my own.

BlackWomenLoveToRead: Where are you from?

Sylvia Hubbard:I am from Detroit Michigan, which is mostly where the settings in my books take place

BlackWomenLoveToRead:Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

Sylvia Hubbard:According to my mother, I was always lying to her all the time. Around six or seven she decided she needed to do something severe to make it stop, so after world class butt whoopings, she made me write my lies down and bring them back to her to tell her the lie again all written out. I started to see my lie looked better on paper and I could expand on the lie a lot better and add other scenarios and other factors. I stop with my mouth and started telling stories with my fingers. My pain became my pleasure.

BlackWomenLoveToRead:What scene in your writing has made you laugh the hardest or cry the most? 

Sylvia Hubbard:In my second book, Stone’s Revenge, when I had to put shoot my male protagonist and Abigail, the female protagonist had to hold him while blood spilled from him. It hurt me so bad I feel in a deep depression that night. I couldn't believe I’d written a powerful scene like that and it was so worth it.

BlackWomenLoveToRead: What are your current projects?

Sylvia Hubbard:My newest paperback and eBook release is called His Substitute Wife… My Sister. It’s about three sisters going after one man. One sister will lose everything, another sister will die and one sister will get everything she wants. I also have a live story going on called Betrayed about a woman bent on revenge and realizes in the end, no one wins.
