Kharisma Kashmere Interview

It’s with great pleasure that I share this most recent author Kharisma Kashmere Q&A on BlackWomenLoveToRead Blog. That’s because I happen to be reading  Sex Lies Betrayal 2 "The Facade" right now!

Where are you from?

Kharisma Kashmere: I'm from Maywood which is a crazy little suburb outside of Chicago.

What inspired you to write your first book?

Kharisma Kashmere :I began having dreams about Erie and Antonio's fights, but I thought it was my conscience
telling me not to get married honestly. So I put my engagement on hold and more and more
of the story would come to me in my dreams sometime day dreams. I began thinking of all the
crazy things that would happen if my marriage were to fail and that's how the story came about.
So (my husband now) proposing we get married at 18 inspired me to write the SLB series. Crazy right?

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

Kharisma Kashmere: My mother would give us a chance to express ourselves on paper and would demand
we be articulate and that was the only way to get what you wanted. I began writing stories
and have awards from 3rd grade. Urban fiction writing came when I was introduced to the
works of Wahida Clark at 14. The scene in Sex. Lies. Betrayal:

What scene in your writing has made you laugh the hardest or cry the most?

Kharisma Kashmere: The Facade that made me laugh the hardest was when Palace tried to light
Antonio on fire because I honestly had just finished arguing about how long I'd been at my
laptop and I told my husband
if he hid my laptop I would set him on fire.

What are your current projects?

Kharisma Kashmere: I'm currently working on a novel titled Stepped On: Palace's Story, #3TheHardWay,
and an urban erotica titled Come Get Some.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Kharisma Kashmere:  I can stress enough how much I appreciate and thank each and every last one
of you for giving me a chance. I do this for your enjoyment and entertainment and
that will never change. I promise to present nothing less the quality work decorated with
originality and crazy characters. Thank you again
